SPEAKER_03

Hello.

SPEAKER_02

Hi. Happy Tuesday. Welcome to Sister Shit.

SPEAKER_00

I'm Caroline. I'm Meredith. And happy Tuesday. Happy Tuesday. You guys, we just we ate a big dinner. I think that's what's wrong with us, maybe. And I I've been having a stroke all night. I can't form a sentence. I know. You've your speech, which and my voice is gone. But we've been struggling coming up with topics. If you can't tell, this season we're really not we're really just flying by the seat of our pants. Last season we had like a real good rhythm and schedule and some topics.

SPEAKER_02

And this season we're just this is you're sitting in on what almost every conversation actually looks like.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, and we recorded this literally yesterday. Like you were getting real time. Real time. Real sisters.

SPEAKER_02

Real sisters.

SPEAKER_00

Real shit.

SPEAKER_02

Real shit. Our new slogan.

SPEAKER_00

How is Jonas Brothers?

SPEAKER_02

It was great. Hence my voice still being gone. Yeah, that's actually kind of crazy. I think I also like I was sick last week and I just like really pretended I wasn't. Do you ever do that?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Where you're like, sometimes it's the best thing to do. It is. Honestly, I didn't even end up taking Dayquill or anything, and I felt like shit. Like every night it would hit me like a ton of bricks. Oh, I pumped the day quill. I would just wake up the next day and be like, we're doing it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I mean, I I do I will take a day quill, a one day quill. I just did this a few weeks ago. I probably gave this to you. Probably. I wake up, I take a day quill, I drink tea. Yeah, we drink say it's gonna be a great day. Yep.

SPEAKER_02

And then by the end of the day, I'm gonna- Honestly, like I kind of it it's lingering for a long time, probably because I won't like just slow down.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But like production has not stopped, baby. Like, I have been productive. That's great. And I had to go see Joe.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, how was he?

SPEAKER_02

He was really good.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like, can I be honest? I think he's getting tired of the posters.

SPEAKER_02

Why?

SPEAKER_00

Or maybe I'm just getting tired of the posters.

Joe Jonas, Posters, And Parasocial Energy

SPEAKER_02

I think you are. I think he he gives me the vibe that he like eats up every ounce of attention that you get.

SPEAKER_00

I've just seen a few reaction videos where he's just like dead behind the eyes.

SPEAKER_02

I think he might be generally current currently generally dead behind the eyes. Oh yeah? Not like really more. I got a video today from Natalie. Hey Natalie. Oh hi Natalie. She sent me a video of them promoting something I couldn't get.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, and he kept like putting his head on their shoulder. Yeah, and he was like bing bong. Like he was like drunk.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Or something like that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, something's up with him.

SPEAKER_02

Like, I think he's okay. Yeah. But like, and and it was so funny because we went with we randomly had extra tickets because my friend's dad came through as always. And so last minute I was like having a glass of wine with my boss, and her kids came in and were like, We're not seeing the Jonas Brothers tonight. I was like, guess what, kids? You told them before asking her. Well, she like was like, Oh, I'm sorry. Maybe I should have asked her first. Caroline! I did say, I did say, like, this might not work out. Like, hold on, let me like see if I can figure it out. And then I was like, Julian is like. But um, yeah, I might have fucked up. No, I'm sure it's fine. But David said her husband was like, I'm gonna, I was like, you I owe you big time. And he's like, nope, I'm just gonna get you back when you're least expecting it. That's so well.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like you just broke the like the number one rule of childhood is like you don't ask the mom to sleep over in front of the mom.

SPEAKER_02

I know. I just got I mean sorry, in front of the kid.

SPEAKER_00

I know.

SPEAKER_02

I was really excited because I had fellow Joe Bro fans with me. They're like 10 years old. Julie was like She loved it. She loved it. She's converted.

SPEAKER_00

Actually, remember, I told you you should ask her. I know, and it worked out. I'm so glad.

SPEAKER_02

And she's converted.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, she oh, she did not have previously.

SPEAKER_02

She knew like four songs, but like They're very fun. You converted me too.

SPEAKER_00

They're a great Church of the Ghost Brothers.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And like she loved them. And but, anyways, I was gonna say Joe was like doing his thing. And Ruby, her daughter, was like, he's the middle child, right?

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, really?

SPEAKER_00

Sorry, y'all. Caroline's still actively sick. We're sitting so close.

SPEAKER_02

I think you gave this to me. Maybe not. Maybe not. Um, but this is a good thing. It's so funny that she called that. She called it.

SPEAKER_00

So Jo Jay is not a convert.

Fangirl Confessions And Internet Favorites

SPEAKER_02

No, he he said it was fine, and he's had Jonas Brothers songs stuck in his head since the concert. But I wouldn't he sat for like every song. Yeah, he didn't stand. That's fine. Which was fine because we had a small kid behind us. And so I think part of it was like he didn't want to stand in front of the small kid. Yeah. But like it was kind of a moment because I was like surrounded by like a lot of small kids. And I was just like, wait, am I a freaking loser?

SPEAKER_00

Caroline. You're not a loser, but I you do have a lot you participate in a lot of fandoms.

SPEAKER_02

I do. But not much anymore.

SPEAKER_00

Um Joe Bros, Harry Styles, yeah, Harry Styles slash One Direction, Disney, Riverdale.

SPEAKER_02

Riverdale has died, Mayor. I don't really participate more.

SPEAKER_00

No, not anymore, but I would still say you're part of it. I do love that first season. I know, you love them. If it was a new season, you would watch it.

SPEAKER_02

No, I didn't watch the last season.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, it's still ha it's still happening.

SPEAKER_02

No, the last season that came out, I didn't watch it because they became superheroes, and I was like, Oh my gosh, they did?

SPEAKER_00

That show was crazy.

SPEAKER_02

The first two seasons are great.

SPEAKER_00

That's it. Trying to think of your other things you're you're really uh. I'm a big fangir. You're a fangirl of like Hamilton. You're like very emotionally invested in a lot of people online. Binny drama and his And the little person who does line dance. Tabby, TikTok, tab. And you get like really offended if people don't like them as much. You were trying to convert me to something rant recently, and I was like, Caroline, it's okay that Renee Rap. Renee rap. Which I have to say more. Okay. Can I say it? Yeah, but I mean go ahead. Well, this is I'm gonna preface this. Last time I told Caroline had me listen to her new album.

SPEAKER_02

You were barely listening because you were overstimulated and you were like, I just can't right now. I just can't.

SPEAKER_00

No, but you were like, I'm putting it on, it's so good. Let's listen. You made me listen to her new album. That's the definition.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but you didn't like listen to it.

Renee Rapp Takes And Self‑Made Docs

SPEAKER_00

I heard enough to say, this isn't making me less overstimulated. This isn't making my evening better. Okay. I'm not into it. And you were like really like upset that I didn't like her as much.

SPEAKER_02

Well, it's not that the thing is, is like I don't feel that way about everyone.

SPEAKER_00

No, I know. That's what I'm saying. You're one, the things that you are fangirling.

SPEAKER_02

No, no. I don't feel that way about everyone needing to like the same things as me. It's just so specific.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, really? That makes me feel special.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't know. I think I just like want your big approval. My big thinker. I need my thinker's approval. I'm so sorry. It's okay. And then you're like, Well, I won't say what I was gonna say then. No, you can say it.

SPEAKER_00

I think she's kind of a tryhard. Really? Uh-huh. I watched her on Z-Way. I like watched her little like snippets of her interview with Z-Way, which I didn't know who she was previously. But um, she like interviews people and is like really mean and very dry. And I will say, Renee Rapp is quick. She like caught she was like quick on the joke, quick to like quick to like respond and like be quippy.

SPEAKER_02

But like there were a few times where I was like just like okay, but like not we don't need to like get super far into this, but like not Demi level try hard.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, of course absolutely not Caroline. That is a that isn't like Renee is on Earth and Demi is out in cyberspace, like not cyberspace. Demi is on another planet, like she's not for those of you that don't know. Mayor and I our friend Sydney's gonna stop listening to this after this episode because she loves Renee and Demi.

SPEAKER_02

I know. Okay, I love Renee, just so you know. But um, Demi, Meredith and I have this like thing. I don't know why, because we watched why did we watch her documentary?

SPEAKER_00

I love a like I love a but like what documentary made us watch it? I think just interest. Like I watched Taylor Swift's, I watched, I like love a like famous person documentary. Okay, well Especially when they're self-produced because it is insane.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, hers is insane. The entire thing, she's trying to convince everyone that she's funny.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like that's the whole documentary is like all of her like people that work for her looking scared and dead behind the eyes and she's so funny.

SPEAKER_00

She's so funny. A lot of people don't know this, but she's like really funny. But honestly, a self-produced documentary is like like by like biography document documentary is like truly maybe one of my favorite things because it's so self-indulgent.

SPEAKER_02

But like you loved Pamela Anderson's.

SPEAKER_00

I loved hers.

SPEAKER_02

She's old, she I feel like she's a different age where she's like And she also was like combating like one that came out about her that wasn't like a side.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, she was like, I'm gonna tell my side of the story, and it wasn't I wouldn't mean I don't mean to say she's old. I just I think she's not doing this documentary in the like in her heyday. Like she's had her heyday. Yeah. I could talk about her forever. Her documentary was like, This is who I am, and no one knows this because I was all of these things to all of these people, and for the first time ever, this is who I am. And she's old enough to be able to have this, like, she has a self-awareness to be like not I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Demi's was so insane.

SPEAKER_02

Like, I need everyone to watch Demi and then give us like your opinion because I don't know if maybe She's like, I was bullied, you guys. But then didn't like even the teachers came out and they were like, no, no, she was she was a bully.

SPEAKER_00

So like I just like a Disney star, like that's yeah. I mean we need to look up. Why are we talking about Demi? Oh, Renee Rapp. Yes. No, not Renee, not Demi level, but just like I just she's just not my flavor. She's not my flavor. I think that's that's all I was like.

SPEAKER_02

Is it Dancing with the Devil?

Pamela Anderson Vs Demi Documentaries

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh, is it? Or she's has multiple.

SPEAKER_02

That's the four-part documentary we have not watched. She has so many, and she's only like how old is she, like 32? Or did we watch Simply Complicated?

SPEAKER_00

That one. I have honestly have no idea. The fact that she has multiple documentaries and she's lived like barely like she's like lived a third of her life is like insane. Like that's insane to me. What does she have to say? So much and so little. But yeah, no, okay. That actually puts in perspective. Uh Renee is she seems fine. I'm sure she's fine. I just you know, I just am like I think I'm just it's very interesting. I'm not interested. Okay. As Abby would say. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Love that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And and but know that like my I we're airing this now, but I'm like, I don't do that with everyone. I'm not like you have to like this person because I like this person.

SPEAKER_00

No, actually, that makes me feel really s like I like that's very sweet. I do the same thing with you, actually. I like really want your approval.

SPEAKER_02

Ugh, why?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. I think you're really cool.

SPEAKER_02

I feel the same way. I like want your approval on everything.

SPEAKER_00

Literally, I'm like Like, if you don't like someone, I'm like, they're done. They're out. Out of my life forever. I'm never seeing them again. Watch out, y'all. Also, that's not true. Called out. But it's not true, but it does eat me alive.

SPEAKER_02

It shouldn't. I my thing is like I just like have I don't know what it is, but there was like a person in our lives that Meredith and I were like, Meredith was friends with. She introduced me to them, and I was like, not my flavor, said not my flavor for like years. And the thing is, is like, even if they're not my flavor, like that's okay. Yeah. Like, I'm not someone that's like, I'm gonna just be like, can't stand her. You know what I mean? Not my flavor. Also, she's bossy. But really, that was like the only thing I was just like, she's bossy, she's not my flavor. But like, I wasn't like, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Don't hang out with her. No, yeah, no, you weren't.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like I'm like kind of chill about like No, you are.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you are. I just think I know that like we just have a lot of good friendships that we both equally love the people, and those are just it's magical.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

We have which I'm like I love them, you love them, they love us, they get us. I mean, look it bloated. I mean, the whole time I was in with in Italy with my friend Carolyn, I would not shut up about you. And I feel like she was like, Why won't she stop talking about our sister?

SPEAKER_02

No, but Caroline loves me. I know. Caroline literally came to my bachelorette party. I had never met her before. You had never met her? Like, wasn't she just like no? Or maybe I'd met her like once.

SPEAKER_00

And I was like, she's coming to your bachelor. Did your friends think I was just like the worst sister ever? I literally brought a friend to your bachelor up there.

SPEAKER_02

No, but like I I was like, great. That was so fun. It was so fun. I loved it.

SPEAKER_00

Sorry to Caroline's friends if you thought that was really annoying.

SPEAKER_02

No, because the thing is, is like Caroline shows up and everyone's like, love this fit.

SPEAKER_00

I know.

SPEAKER_02

Speaking of which, I'm gonna do a quick plug. If you're at Trader Joe's, make sure you buy the doggy or kitty advent calendar for the holiday season because she designed them.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, she did. I've I bought both of them on separate days, and I've told the cashier both times that my friend made it. And they were like, actually, you know, Trader Joe's. They were so excited for me.

SPEAKER_02

They're like, oh my gosh, no way. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Both actually, both times I was in line, I feel like they they're like, this advent calendar is really making their job easy because when I got in line with the dog one, they're like, Oh, what kind of dog do you have? And then I got in line with the cat one, and they were like, Oh, what kind of cat do you have? What topic? I know. But that's when I knew it was just like a little recipe for like conversation.

SPEAKER_02

And they probably like teach that in the break room. They're like, when they buy this item, you say this. When they buy this item, you say this.

SPEAKER_00

But like, no one what kind of cat? It's a it's a damn stray.

SPEAKER_02

One time somebody is what kind of cat we had to Jay and I, and Jay said, I don't know, a cardboard box cat.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, not untrue. Not untrue.

SPEAKER_02

Aren't they all Have I told my story about how I acquired Lilo on the podcast?

SPEAKER_00

No, but I this is one of my favorite stories.

SPEAKER_02

So my cat is old. She's turning 15 in February. I got her my junior year of high school. Actually, I verbally adopted her the same night Meredith got engaged. Oh, I always forget about that. Yes. Because I was at a party and this girl's like, oh my gosh, my mom just called my cat seven kittens. And I was like, I want one. Like, as soon as they're ready, I want one. Apparently. I said this. Six weeks later.

SPEAKER_00

Was that before or after you forgot the call that your sister was engaged?

SPEAKER_02

The timeline is fuzzy. I honestly, you probably called me, and then I was feeling so high on love that I was like, gimme a cat. So six weeks later, I get this call or text from a girl being like, Hey, the cat kittens are ready. And I was like, What? But I didn't even question it. I just met her at Publix and I picked up Lelo, Sparkle's Princess Beyoncé, and she's been in my life ever since. And she is. There aren't there aren't words to describe Lelo, but she's been a cornerstone in my life.

SPEAKER_00

That sounds a good word. I would say she is a really great representation for your lived experience in high school and how decisions you make as a child follow you into authentic adulthood.

SPEAKER_02

Y'all, she literally just got into a cat fight over the summer. And like, first of all, her getting into a cat fight describes her perfectly. She's like so mean. Although in her older years, I'm kind of like, this poor cat. She's sweet. I love her. She's sweet. She's very vocal.

SPEAKER_00

Anyway.

Vet Drama And Aging Pets

SPEAKER_02

But I had to pay$800 for her that damn cat fight. I thought she was dying. I kissed her goodbye. You kissed her goodbye? I said, Jay, kiss her goodbye. You might not see her. I'm taking her to the vet. I was kissing her the whole time we were in the waiting room. I was like, this is it. Like, this is my time with Lelo. I bring her in, they're like, oh yeah, this is an infection from a cat fight. It's gonna be$800.

SPEAKER_00

And you're gonna have to juice that baby every eight every five hours.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and they were like, and also she looks so great for her age.

SPEAKER_00

So anyway.

SPEAKER_02

She honestly does. She's gonna live forever, Caroline.

SPEAKER_00

She's gonna live a long time.

SPEAKER_02

I hope so. Honestly. Yeah, I mean, it's one of those things where I'm like, she's been a part of my life for like so long. Yeah, that's a cornerstone. As you said.

SPEAKER_00

Also, I'm sorry for saying that this bad decisions follow you through adulthood. You didn't make bad decisions. I mean, I definitely did.

SPEAKER_01

I mean I'm like I made like hundreds of things.

SPEAKER_00

Like she's the only decision that followed you into adulthood. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Is she coming with us to Thanksgiving? No. Since when has she ever traveled? I know you throw her ass out on the porch.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, no. No, no, no. It's cold. I got a neighborhood.

SPEAKER_00

There was a winter that she lived outside.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, but she refused to come inside. That's true. Like she would not get her in.

SPEAKER_00

She goes through fate. We've talked about this cat for so long on the city. I know we don't know. Anyway, so she's not coming to Thanksgiving. She's not.

SPEAKER_02

I hired a neighborhood kid to watch her. Okay. My friend's son is going to cat sit her.

Wicked Anticipation And Grandma Memories

SPEAKER_00

Good luck, but yeah. I mean, she's nice. She honestly act is so nice to all your neighbors, and they all act like we're not giving enough attention. She's very popular in the neighborhood. Speaking of popular. What? I'm so excited to see Wicked. Me too. I watched the special. I haven't watched it yet. I cried a lot. Okay. Not like cried, but like welled up multiple times. Okay, I need to watch it.

SPEAKER_02

I love a live performance.

SPEAKER_00

Me too.

SPEAKER_02

Even on the TV. I know, me too.

SPEAKER_00

And I honestly think of our grandma every time. I'm like, she would have loved this. She loved entertained. Being entertained. She did. She loved a carnival cruise. She did.

SPEAKER_02

Even the entertainment. Like that was. She went loved.

SPEAKER_00

She didn't care what kind of entertainment. She just liked to be entertained. Yep. Sweet Mimi. I know. But anyway, that's coming out. I'm so excited. I bought tickets to see it. Yes, yes, yes. Can't wait. Um Thanksgiving season. Yes, we're going. I'm excited for Thanksgiving. Caroline has an itinerary. If anyone wants a good Thanksgiving itinerary, you should ask Caroline for hers because.

Building A Better Thanksgiving

SPEAKER_02

I a couple years ago. Well, okay. It started because we spent a lot. We've talked about this before, I think. We're like South your friend Christy always says like South Carolina families just like sit around. And it's like very true. It is true. And so finally I was like, no, we need to make this fun. Because as a kid, I went to my friend's Thanksgiving and her family, they did like a hog roast, and so like the guys would just like start roasting this hog, and it would like roast for I think like 24 hours or something. So they would like have all kinds of things going on for 24 hours, and the kids wouldn't camp in tents on their property. It was like cousins upon cousins upon cousins.

SPEAKER_00

I've been to someone else's Thanksgiving that was like this. It was so fun.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, so fun. And I was like, this is amazing. Like, this is like the type of childhood I want to give my kid. So, inspired by that, I was like, I'm coming up with an itinerary. And so, I guess it was two Thanksgivings ago. I came up with an itinerary, and it is pretty killer.

SPEAKER_00

It's really fun. We're doing it again this year. I went to in high school, my friend Whitney's grandpa had a little mountain house on a Christmas tree farm. Oh my gosh. A tiny little house. She had so many it was truly like a clown car. Pour me some more Worcestershire sauce. We have this tiny bottle of wine. It literally looks like Worcestershire. Um Thank you. I I don't know how many people were at this event, but it was like extended like her whole mom side of the family. All the cousins slept in sleeping bags on the floor. We played Pictionary until like hours in the morning. Like it was, we went on a high a snowy hike one day. At the end of it, ever every family cut down a Christmas tree from the farm to bring home. Like it was That's magical. So freaking fun.

SPEAKER_02

And honestly, like I don't know. I'm just like, that is how the holidays should be. I'm like the more I'm very more the merrier mentality in things. So, and I feel like my family kind of shits on me for it sometimes because we'll be like, not Well, no, I'm just like, what like every time we're at mom and dad's, I'm like, so-and-so's coming to visit. Oh, and so-and-so's coming to the video. Oh, I visited, and so-and-so's coming to visit. I like make all my people come over to my mom's visit.

SPEAKER_00

I guess that's also just because you still you're the only people one out of the three of us that still have connections there.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. But I just am like, oh yeah, just come over to my mom's and hang out and do whatever with us. So I don't know. And so, but we like shoot mistletoe. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

We have a talent show. We have a talent show, we have a wiffle ball tournament, we play left, right, center. Yes. Oh yeah. Mom has that, right? Yeah. Yeah. Um I'm I'm excited. Marini's dad. Dad always goes like way too hard on wiffle ball. Oh my gosh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

He's like a father.

SPEAKER_00

I think he does it for comedic effect. Like, yeah. But I like eat it up. Me too. We all do.

SPEAKER_02

He's gonna hurt himself.

Games, Traditions, And Holiday Magic

SPEAKER_00

He's gonna hurt him. He's gonna like actually hurt himself. But I know we need to practice our talent. I know. I know. Right. My girls are performing for the first time this year. They're very excited. It has been choreographing. Oh, as she told Sam. I mean, choreographing is a loose term, but like she I think she's like really taking charge. But it's fun. I'm excited. We eat we're gonna have an oyster roast one one day. Yeah, I just I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

I'm trying to think of like our our Thanksgivings growing up were fun. Honestly, this is so random, but one of my like most favorite Thanksgiving memories is going to fresh market.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, yes. I don't we go we always spent Thanksgiving with our dad's family, and then we'd like on the way home, we'd go to fresh market and we'd stick our dirty little hands in their floating cranberries.

SPEAKER_02

That's one of my most vivid memories, is like just like playing in the cranberries.

SPEAKER_00

Which is sick. Yeah, but I guess people wash them anyways. I think they've changed the display. I don't think they float anymore. I think the kids were getting too crazy with the cranberries. But yeah, that was but also like going there was so fun because it was like I as a kid, they just had this like big beautiful house and it felt very like And the I just remember the adults like staying up to the city. I mean, talking about talk about people sitting around. The adults just sat up. But they would play cards, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And every Thanksgiving was spent, like, all the adults would wake up and like crack open the bloody Marys.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And I like now I get to like appreciate. The Macy's Day Parade on her tiny little TV that was like inside of a cabinet. In the kitchen while we cooked.

SPEAKER_02

It was sweet. I know.

SPEAKER_00

I like the first time I ever saw a tampon was this. I this is one of my a vivid memory memory for me. I was in elementary school. Or no, maybe I knew what a tampon was, but my I saw a bundle of them in dad dad's mom's um Vera Bradley chicken purse. What? Like a bumper. Why did Gunka have tampons? She wasn't she yeah, she was not a young mom. Like she was definitely post-menopausal.

SPEAKER_02

Like literally, by the time she had our dad, she her my dad and her his next sibling are 17 years apart. My dad was brought to like go play Bunko.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. No, but like, anyway, I think maybe I knew what they were and saw them, but then mom and I at some time at some point talked about it because mom was like, I don't know why she had all those in there. But I have never forgotten that. Because I've never seen I had never seen so many tampons at one time, and they were my my grandma's Vera Bradley chicken purse. Yes. You know what I always think about? She was like definitely in her 70s.

SPEAKER_02

Why'd she have those? Maybe she brought them for like somebody else.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe. Maybe someone needed that.

SPEAKER_02

I was just like, okay, but you want to know what my core memory is? Yeah. First of all, it was like the first time I had one of those like really bad coughs where you like cough up like a bunch of stuff from your chest. It was disgusting. And I'm like, I can't believe like I was at their house sounding like that.

unknown

Oh.

SPEAKER_04

Because they're like fancy people.

SPEAKER_02

And I was like hacking all over their house. Uh-huh. That's beside the point.

SPEAKER_00

But I don't remember that.

Fresh Market Memories And Family Lore

SPEAKER_02

I saw Spy Kids for the very first time in her den. And I just remember the microwave on Spy Kids, and I just remember being like, This is the greatest movie I've ever seen. And I was I had that SpongeBob jellyfish hunting shirt. Oh, I remember that, yes. That year was a good year.

SPEAKER_00

Except for you were sick, apparently.

SPEAKER_02

I was really sick.

SPEAKER_00

Sorry if you can hear the piano in the background. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, but also, you know how like you have that experience of like when you go home for Thanksgiving and everyone from your hometown goes out.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

We're which we're not going out the night that everyone goes out, but did you ever have that experience like the night before Thanksgiving, that Wednesday night?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, because I remember I was I didn't go out, I was lame.

SPEAKER_02

No, but like even when you were old enough.

SPEAKER_00

I really don't feel like I did. I like because I feel like by the time I was going out, all my friends were like, I'm not doing that anymore. I was a really late bloomer. You know?

SPEAKER_02

I don't feel like you were.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I just like started going out and at drinking age.

SPEAKER_02

And by the time that time they were like, I'm having wine with my parents. Yes, literally. And I was like, well, cool. Uh so my gosh. I'm sorry I've been coughing this whole time. It's really nice.

SPEAKER_00

Um, okay, well, you know what I just watched? What? Caroline said we're not allowed to talk about movies, but it's literally all I have to talk about these days.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, it's not that we're not allowed to talk about movies. It's just that, like, we can't just only talk about TV because you and I like only talk about TV.

SPEAKER_00

Well, do you know what? Do you want to know what I just rewatched?

SPEAKER_02

What? Um Christmas Prince. You texted me the other night out of the blue and said, gosh, Christmas Prince is so bad.

Hometown Nights And Late Bloomers

SPEAKER_00

I watched it. I like, I think it might be an annual one for me. It's so bad. It's so good. I need to watch it. Her costuming is like absolutely insane. I think the haircut's in the second one because I was looking for it. Okay. The the cot like her costumes, her story, her father. Her father is like, they cannot be related. There's no like he's do you remember the dad? Yeah, he's like a deli owner from like with this insane accent, and she's just like the most vanilla person ever. Caroline is hacking up a long time. I'm sorry. Anyway, I love to highly recommend to kick off your Hallmark Christmas.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, also, though, I know we're not supposed to talk about TV, but Mare and I I think our next show that we watch together after. I finally finished plath film. I'm very behind. When is that happening? I don't know, but it's gonna be Jersey Shore. Oh yeah. Like I feel so excited about that.

SPEAKER_00

I recently saw a behind-the-scenes thing with them where they like were talking about how they like did not know what the show was going to be. So they like showed up with they were like game, you know, they like showed up with their stuff, but like they were not told how long it they were gonna be filming, they didn't weren't told like what the living situation was gonna be. Like they knew like nothing. And so they were just told like Alright, go in there and say, like, the party's here. And so the girl walks in with like her trash bag of clothes and is like party's here. Like, I know but I like know nothing. I didn't watch it.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so I didn't either, and there's this weird thing, like I love nothing more than jumping on reality TV like way too late. Yes. Like we talked about this with the hills. The hills, survivor. I mean, like, I just I love when it's like it's died. No one's like.

Jersey Shore And Late-To-Party TV

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's so fun when it's this far past too because the clothes are so funny. It's like somehow funnier. Yeah. I can't wait. Well, in the moment, I feel like I can never watch it in the moment when all of that was at its height because I just I've always said I like can't watch reality TV because I'll get too into it. And it's true. Yeah. But I think it's like I don't have to be worried about that when the time moment has passed. Like I'll be I'll get into it in like a different.

SPEAKER_02

My personality is like fangirly, so like I will get into it.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I'll get into it, but like I think maybe it's like the Enneagram 4 in me that's like I can't be into the same thing everyone else is into at the same time. Yeah. I'm gonna give it a solid 10-15 years.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, same, same. I did the that with Harry Potter. I've done it with everything.

SPEAKER_00

Twilight. Oh gosh, Twilight. Twilight is so funny. I know. I like didn't re- I didn't I missed it completely. And I've been watching it like over the phone with my friend.

SPEAKER_02

I love that y'all are doing that.

SPEAKER_00

And she knows like, she's like, Meredith, you have to try. Like, I'm like, who's that? What's going on? Why is he like I like known she's like, you you have to put in a little effort, like, to know at least something from one movie to the other one.

SPEAKER_02

I always forget she's in that. In the first one, in the second one.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, thank you. We just watched the one where they break the bed. I told you I had to watch that scene with Susan, my mother-in-law, and we were both like, oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_00

Wait. Okay, we just said we're gonna wrap up, but I just learned this. The person who wrote it is Mormon. I know. You know this? Yes. I didn't know this. Yay! And it's like, it's they people theorize that it's like it's like a picture of the Mormon church. Wait, I don't like that. Like the Cullens are the Mormons, and they they're trying to like convert Bella. And the and the bad vampires in Italy are Catholics because Mormons have like a thing against Catholics.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my gosh. I always know that it was.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if she was like, I'm writing this to be a what do you call it when something's like So the Valkyrie's Catholic. What do you call this is a very basic thing? Metaphor, yes. Or like a yeah, metaphor. Is that a pediph? A petiform? Um but I don't know if she wrote it consciously to be that, but like it's so funny be to like see all of the parallels between Mormonism and Twilight. Parallels. Parallels. Okay. That was the word.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, that's bizarre.

SPEAKER_00

I know. It's I went on a deep dive in Mormonism recently.

SPEAKER_01

Love that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I it's so intriguing to me. Did you do it via Twilight? No, but that was on my pack. Well, I follow this one girl that's an ex-Mormon, and she did a post about Twilight.

SPEAKER_02

Oh. Stephanie Myers. Stephanie Myers. Man.

Twilight Rewatch And Wild Lore

SPEAKER_00

She made a lot of money. Yeah, she did. She's still making money, I think. I'm watching it right now. On the phone. On the phone. Well. Well, that's another week with the sisters. Talking about absolutely nothing. Um, we next week. Short notice, flash twiz. What is it? Oh my god, what is wrong with my brain, y'all? I promise. I'm like, I promise I am okay, but I'm not. Like, something is wrong with me.

SPEAKER_02

Like, blink twice if something's in No.

SPEAKER_01

What were you gonna have to go? Where are you going with that? I thought you were testing my cognitive ability.

SPEAKER_02

And then you blink twice at me, and I'm like, oh shit, something wrong.

SPEAKER_00

No, I think it's just at this time of day, I'm just not as sharp as I am at the beginning of the day. I was getting stuff done earlier today.

SPEAKER_02

My brain was functioning for like 10 straight hours, and it's over.

SPEAKER_00

And it's and now it's nine night jam jam. Jam jam nine night. Okay, we next week are doing a podcast episode on youth group. Yes. Send us your best, worst, funniest, weirdest youth group stories. All of them. We want all of it.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, that's all we'll say. See you next Tuesday. Next Tuesday.
