Justin Bieber, Paul Walker, and Jay Smith. Guess which one is this week’s special guest?
With Meredith traveling, Caroline’s husband Jay makes his podcast debut—and it feels more like hanging out in their living room than a formal interview (complete with a bedtime snack negotiation with their five-year-old).
Jay tells everyone about his love for Paul Walker, sharing insights from I Am Paul Walker and breaking down the evolution of the Fast and Furious franchise. The couple swap stories about celebrity deaths that hit close to home, debate Justin Bieber’s transformation from teen star to serious artist, and laugh over how Jurassic Park somehow shows up at every major milestone in their relationship.

Meet Jay: Caroline's First-Time Podcast Husband
Speaker 2Hi, welcome to Sister Shit. We are missing half of the sisters tonight. It is just me, caroline. Happy Tuesday. I have a special guest guest tonight. He has never been on a podcast before and it is my husband, jay.
Speaker 1Say hi I've only listened to like 20 podcasts ever really probably.
Speaker 2That's probably at most how many of them have been mine?
Speaker 1Zero Two audiobooks.
Speaker 2Zero.
Speaker 1And I'm rarely on social media, although I'm getting more into it these days.
Speaker 2Have you ever listened to my podcast?
Speaker 1Yeah, I don't know about a full episode. Oh my gosh why?
Speaker 2Because you live with it, like you don't need to listen to a recording of it.
Speaker 1Well, I don't need to listen. Start and finish.
Speaker 2I will listen to pieces and be like okay, this is good, this is that meaty. Tell me the truth, that is funny, y'all get going. Am I funny, yeah or do you listen to it and you're just like good god, I've had enough of this. In real life, I don't need to listen to the recording of this.
Speaker 1I mean that too.
Speaker 2But mostly because Meredith and I are just on one most of the time when we're together.
Speaker 1Well, yeah, I remember when this project, the birth of the project.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Keith and I were like yeah, this makes 100% sense to do, Because you were already locking yourselves in a room and talking for half of the day. You might as well record it and let people listen.
Speaker 2Oh my gosh. Okay, sorry about that quick break. We had to debate with our five-year-old about whether or not he can have a snack when it's literally bedtime.
Speaker 1Who can relate?
Speaker 2Okay, but you were saying Mayor and I. You were like this makes sense, because Mare and I are already talking nonstop. Right yeah, yeah, okay, so I Mare the five-year-old, really just. I know chops that in half.
Paul Walker Deep Dive
Speaker 2Cuts your thought process and half. Yeah, but I invited jay on the show tonight because mayor is currently in flight, I think on the way back from italy, and she will return soon. So I invited jay on because he's never been on. But as we were like trying to come up with topics to talk about, we literally could not come up with anything yeah, we did paul walker yeah, we were like should we talk about paul walker?
Speaker 2we've been watching paul walker movies yeah, we have um because, like we talked about a couple episodes ago, we just got back from miami oh, yeah, yeah to go to miami jay and I decided we were gonna watch miami themed movies, one of them being fast and the second fast and furious yeah, well, we watched the first one for my birthday yes, so anyone who doesn't know.
Speaker 1We have a group of friends and we watch that whoever's birthday, this gets to pick a movie and we get some food, we get takeout and we watch their movie and, uh yeah, whoever's birthday it is picks the movie, picks the takeout, and it can be like literally whatever movie you want.
Speaker 2We've watched so many good ones so far, so jay's movie this year was the second fast and furious no, the first, fast and furious.
Speaker 1Yeah, the first one which, okay, I've never watched fast and furious but it was perfect timing because we have we had a trip to miami coming and it was like.
Speaker 2So we watched the second one in miami in the hotel. It was perfect. But so then we went on this like paul walker rabbit hole, because who doesn't do that after watching fast and furious and he's just so likable he is. So I just made jay had never seen into the blue and I just made jay watch into the blue and he, what do you rate it on a scale? Because I feel like, because I feel like you were not impressed.
Speaker 1Well, I'm biased because I already like I love Paul Walker.
Speaker 2So if Paul Walker wasn't in it, what would you give it?
Speaker 1Oh God, I mean it's fine, it's fine.
Speaker 2It's a short well kind of a short movie and scuba diving and Paul Walker and Jessica Alba movie. And scuba diving and paul walker and jessica alba yeah, it's like a treasure hunting movie too yes and it's got some drugs in it yeah, it's got some yeah you know, they're all sexy honestly, jessica alba in the movie like I think I would watch it even if paul walker wasn't in it because of her because of her good acting yeah, I mean she's. She's great in the movie.
Speaker 1I love her, like her acting.
Speaker 2I mean, I don't know, I just think she's iconic. Are you saying you don't think she's a good actress? I'm just thinking back.
Speaker 1I'm like was she good? I don't remember. No, I think she was good, I think it was decent. I think it was decent.
Speaker 2But on your rating of Paul Walker movies is it pretty low.
Speaker 1No, no, I'll put it upper mid.
Speaker 2Upper mid. Yeah, what's the lowest?
Speaker 1The lowest would have to be.
Speaker 2Okay, what is?
Speaker 1it. It's this movie, it's actually, I think, so. I watched Paul Herr's documentary.
Speaker 2Yes.
Speaker 1I don't know why I started watching it. It wasn't right after his death, it was a little bit after I think. I just caught it on Netflix.
Speaker 2Wait, what song makes you think of his death? The Wiz Khalifa song it's been a long day Every time I hear that.
Speaker 1I'm not laughing because of him.
Speaker 2I'm laughing because of that song, but I think of Vin Diesel. Like, didn't he cry to that song at an award show? Oh no, they were friends in real life, right.
Speaker 1I'm sure.
Speaker 2If you met the rocker.
Speaker 1you're probably like oh, we were best friends, yeah.
Speaker 2But the Rock and Vin Diesel are not friends, right. So, Tell me what you know about that.
Speaker 1Well, I heard word around town is they had that fight scene in one of the Fast and Furious movies. Uh-huh. Um, I don't know what it is, because there's like 12 movies now, but there was an issue.
Speaker 2Do they just get like progressively worse?
Speaker 1Yes, Well, they get progressively more crazy. I think in the last one. They literally are getting blasted through space or something Like it starts out in California. Just some like there's some street racing. And then Like low budget. I don't know if it was low budget.
Speaker 2It was good. You know it was the second one was so good yeah.
Speaker 1It feels like just some local dudes street racing.
Speaker 2We're family.
Speaker 1Kind of running in with some trouble.
Speaker 2but the third we're currently on Tokyo Drift. We haven't made it very far and I'm having a hard time with that one because Paul Walker is not in it. Who approved that?
Speaker 1not in it? Who approved that? No idea, and you're not alone. I think a lot of the fan base was like. I think they were like okay, you know, there's a new guy, it's in. Well, well, no, then han's not the main dude in the I know, that's what's so weird and you don't even find out later that han's gonna be the only person from that movie. That goes on, but so you're watching this. Okay, it comes out and you're watching, you're like okay there's like this Southern dude, that's cool.
Speaker 2Are you waiting for Paul Walker, or you knew he was going to be?
Speaker 1that I mean you're waiting for anyone from the first two movies to show up and continue this story somehow, and you're like, and then you're three-fourths through the movie and you're like what is going on?
Speaker 2where are the? Where's everyone? Yeah, they're not coming. They ain't coming, boo-boo so it's, it's an experience okay, sorry, back to um vin diesel and the rock word on the street is they were supposed to do a fight, okay, so they had a they have.
Speaker 1They have a fight scene, they have a big fight scene where the rock is constantly chasing vin diesel and finally they get in the same. They're like in an abandoned warehouse or somewhere in that crazy fight scene, punching through brick walls, all kind of stuff. But apparently there was an issue with their contract, or like on the set, where they couldn't decide who would win the fight because they both have like like these Hollywood images they're trying to retain.
Speaker 2Yeah that, they're like the toughest. Yes, and it's part of their image and part of their contracts were like— so like somebody can't win, if they're both supposed to be the toughest.
Speaker 1Yeah, and I think like the Rock was supposed to win, but like Vin Diesel has like a Hollywood obligation somewhere where it's like—.
Speaker 2So are they—do they not get along? Or do they both just have like hollywood contracts that say that they can't lose in a fight.
Speaker 1That is the mystery.
Speaker 2That's the mystery which can you imagine, that being your like career?
Speaker 1I think vin diesel wins the fight, the movie. I think he's holding like a wrench over him or something oh I could be wrong. Which which movie is that it's?
Speaker 2been a while Like 12?, 10?.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2So are Vin Diesel and Paul Walker and all the other ones until Paul Walker passes away.
Speaker 1Okay, it looks like the Rock comes in in, like the seventh movie, oh my gosh.
Speaker 2The fact that there are that many of them is mind blowing.
Speaker 1It is, it is.
Speaker 2And are they good? Okay, when do you recommend stopping?
Speaker 1Can you stop once you start it? I don't know, that's the question, okay, but best one is one, I think.
Speaker 2Two is good. I watched Fast Five in theaters with an ex-boyfriend. He took me on a date and I'd never seen any of the other ones and I left the theaters being like like that was a fabulous movie, but I had no context, what was happening and I shockingly stayed awake.
Speaker 1That's not crazy. That's not a crazy opinion no no, I think that, like if you were to ask someone who's seen all of them, most of them, whatever they'd be, like either one, two, definitely not three.
Speaker 2Um, I think, fast five that's what I saw and I loved it yeah, I think is that athena's favorite maybe I can't remember we allowed to say her name yeah, she's been on this. She came on and talked about smut. She's in our movie group. Honestly, 10 out of 10 recommend getting a group together where you watch a movie for all of your birthdays, because you get to show your favorite people, your favorite movies, and it's so fun it is, it's, it's great.
Speaker 1You feel like you're.
Fast & Furious: From Street Racing to Space
Speaker 2I mean you're it's opening up a part of yourself. Yeah, you're like. I feel so loved. The people I love are watching the movie that I love.
Speaker 1Yeah, they're watching it for you. Yeah, they're getting to know you through your favorite things.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Their favorite foods.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's very fun.
Speaker 1It's great.
Speaker 2We've forced the guys into watching the live version of Peter Pan.
Speaker 1Oh gosh, that was the hardest movie to get through so far.
Speaker 2Don't say that that was Athena's.
Speaker 1Sorry, athena, it wasn't the original Peter Pan, no, and it wasn't Hook. I'm like, how many are there out there? It's the one with the hot guy it wasn't men in tights, you were not.
Speaker 2I guess you weren't like into him when the movie came out, into the main guy, because that was like the draw of the movie like. I think I was probably nine or ten when that movie came out and that's the one that Meredith had like a sexual awakening over, because he's like at Wendy's window, being like what in the wind? Yeah, anyways, okay. So I was going to say that we were going to tell me about Paul Walker my least favorite movie.
Speaker 2Oh what? Oh my gosh, we never even. Oh my gosh. If you can imagine living with us, this is exactly what it's like.
Speaker 1Well, I talked about watching his documentary. Yeah, what I found out was he didn't even like make in the Fast and the Furious movies. Yeah, you said that, I think he might have liked the first one, and it was fine.
Speaker 2How did he feel?
Speaker 1about Into the Blue? I don't remember. How did he feel about she's All that but I think he was okay with Into the Blue because later in his career well, I think throughout his whole career he would just escape and go off and surf and no one would know where he's at. He wouldn't tell anyone. He would just be like I'm going. I don't know if he took his phone with him. I think he just disappeared.
Speaker 1Yeah, and he's like oh yeah, he's probably out in some random part of the world surfing out in the ocean somewhere.
Speaker 2Wouldn't that be lovely, just to like disappear and go swim in the ocean.
Speaker 1Yeah, and then he'd come back to make a movie, yeah, Just to make money, I know, this movie called I think it was running scared, where he's like, uh, that is a low budget movie. I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 2And that was one of his favorite.
Speaker 1It was one of his favorite because he wanted to be like it's a dark movie and he's a cop.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1And uh, well, I don't, yeah, I don't know if it's cop or what, but he wanted it was like a movie where it was like a dark movie, and he might have been a cop. You don't even remember, I don't remember, but it was not. The Fast and the Furious is what I remembered, and that's all you need to know.
Speaker 2Now, how did he feel about she's All that?
Speaker 1Oh my gosh, I forgot he was in that.
Speaker 2He's the bestie, he's like the main guy's best friend, and he ends up like getting mad. This is a movie that I like to fall asleep to, so I've watched it probably eight to ten times this year.
Speaker 1I don't think they even go into that in the documentary because he's not the main, but let's talk about that, do you?
Speaker 2like that movie. Yeah, it's so good.
Speaker 1Who doesn't? It's a classic.
Speaker 2It's so good.
Speaker 1Who remembers that Paul Walker was in? She's All that.
Speaker 2Yeah, I did not. I know he's the best friend.
Speaker 1I love remembering stuff like that though. I know when you're like he wasn't the main.
Speaker 2But he's in there.
Speaker 1Peek-a-boo, but they were in it like a long time ago when they're young, yeah he's young, he's like very young, yeah, and the you know what, we love him. Yeah. It's like Matthew McConaughey when he's in?
Speaker 2Yes, I don't know, I can't remember if I've talked about my recent obsession with.
Speaker 2Matthew McConaughey, which I haven't seen, but I just finished Matthew McConaughey's book. I can't. I'm sorry, my memory is horrible. I can't remember if I already told you guys that, but I finished his book and now have an obsession with Matthew McConaughey and will be watching all of the movies that he's in.
Speaker 2And he's also a celebrity who likes to like disappear into the wilderness. He like apparently has these dreams that like he calls them wet dreams, but it's because they like wake him up in the middle of the night and tell him where he needs to go next. And so he'll like wake up, sweating and and he'll like know that he needs to go to a certain part of the world. And like the first time he went he got it wrong. He thought it was in africa, but it was actually in the amazon or maybe other way around. But it like basically helps him in his acting process. He's a very cool person and the whole time I was reading it I was just like man. It would be so cool to have enough money and resources just to be able to like go, do these things that help you find yourself, you know yeah it's like everyone's just like grinding.
Speaker 2It's so hard to find the time to like actually reach. What do you call it self-actualization? Where you like, dig deeper into yourself.
Speaker 1Yeah, you like hear about the people who quit their jobs and just go sailing across the world. The guy that we followed on.
Speaker 2Instagram Sailing with Phoenix. Yeah, he, like, worked at a tire company for years and then he quit his job and restored a sailboat and sailed to hawaii.
Speaker 1I guess I thought it was just like an infinite sale. Well, he sailed to hawaii.
Speaker 2And then he was like all right now I'm going bubble like he, just like he keeps going yeah but it's and he's still living.
Speaker 1I and he's not dead he's not dead.
Speaker 2Also, I think now is making money off of his like journey.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Which I think is the key. You have to be making money. You can't just not.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2So it's very interesting.
Speaker 1A few last things about Paul Walker.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1And I don't want to bore anyone.
Speaker 2So I'm just going to say go watch the documentary that's out there. What is it called? Do you know? You need to look it up.
Speaker 1Yeah, can I? Yeah, can you do that?
Speaker 2This is very casual Jay, the stakes are so low.
Speaker 1Let me just.
Speaker 2Most of the people listening know you personally.
Speaker 1Perfect, then I can talk real slow while I'm looking. Oh, it's called, I Am Paul Walker. Oh, it's called, I Am Paul Walker.
Speaker 2Oh, okay, where can we stream it Prime?
Speaker 1Prime Video.
Speaker 2Okay, I Am Paul Walker Prime Video.
Speaker 1Yeah, that should be it. I don't think there should be more than one.
Speaker 2Okay, Wait. So what are your last thoughts on him?
Speaker 1If there is, then good for you. Watch that one too.
Speaker 2Watch them all.
Speaker 1Oh, there's one called Driven Okay, watch them all. Oh, there's one called Driven Okay, paul Walker's story, that one, oh, that one's coming out, that one's not out.
Speaker 2What? When is it coming out?
Speaker 1Oh man, it's a movie with Scarlett Johansson.
Speaker 2No way, hold on. Jay literally loves Scarlett Johansson. Speaking of which, scarlett Johansson has the new Jurassic World movie that we still have not watched.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Which is crazy, because we are obsessed with Jurassic Park.
Speaker 1Have you heard anything on it?
Speaker 2Yeah, I've heard it's amazing.
Speaker 1Really.
Speaker 2Yes, from like multiple sources.
Speaker 1I'm happy to hear that because I just love the franchise.
Speaker 2I know I was going to say everyone that. I've heard that from. It hasn't been like Rotten Tomatoes. I have not looked it up, but everyone that I've heard that it's a fantastic movie from are people that love the franchise. So I don't know if it's overall a good movie. Well, no, if they already love the franchise and they know it then that's a good indicator.
Celebrity Deaths and Personal Connections
Speaker 2Good indicator. Okay, okay, because they could be like oh, they ruined it. We need to watch it. Because jay and I have this thing with jurassic park where when I, whenever we got married, it was during a hurricane, and so whenever we went on our mini moon after our wedding, we just like were stuck in our hotel room on hilton head and it was in october, so all that was playing were like scary-ish movies and the jurassic park marathon was on. So we just like ordered room service and watched it. And then we went on a one-year anniversary trip and it stormed again and we were stuck in our hotel room watching Jurassic Park. And then whenever we had Sim in the hospital he was born in October.
Speaker 1Guess what comes on the TV.
Speaker 2Jurassic Park Marathon.
Speaker 1And Jaws.
Speaker 2And Jaws. I literally watched Jaws 1 and 2, I think four times in labor.
Speaker 1But you love Jaws.
Speaker 2I do love Jaws, yeah, but and then, whenever we were just in Miami for a 10 year, was it the first movie? Yeah, the first movie Jurassic Park was on.
Speaker 1Came on the TV. Came on the TV.
Speaker 2It's, it's meant to be it's our life movie we love that movie lifelines away, um, but yeah, okay, wait. So were you wanting to talk about paul walker?
Speaker 1I keep cutting no, we can, we can you have so much to say about just love the guy, yeah, like you know, not only surfing but he towards his end of his, his life. He would go out and he volunteered, I think, on either these whale or shark boats and he got really into like marine biology and he would volunteer, just like helping out these biologists out there.
Speaker 2That's what I would do, truly, that is, if I retire. When I retire, I just want to like be on a boat somewhere doing cool shit. Yeah, that's very cool, cool guy check him out. I know he is okay. Wait, I was gonna say, wasn't his death, sort of like, first of all ironic because it was in a car?
Speaker 1Going fast.
Speaker 2Going very fast. Second of all, wasn't there some sort of conspiracy surrounding it? Like didn't they say they didn't like find any remains, or something which I don't know if that's common when a car catches on fire, they had to have found remains, the whole the skeleton, doesn't yeah?
Speaker 1okay, we don't need to get into the details. I don't, yeah, I don't know, but I'm sure there's someone out there.
Speaker 2I know conspiracies. This is like the second or third episode where we've come back to a conspiracy about something and I'm just realizing. I think there's a conspiracy about literally everything.
Speaker 1I mean, after watching the documentary you could be like, yeah, like that you could definitely see him as a guy who would want to disappear from the public eye. That's that that was definitely his MO of like I mean he would disappear and go serve and he'd want to disappear and he wouldn't want to disappear and he wouldn't want to. Can you imagine?
Speaker 2being like on a random island on a vacation, being like that's paul walker yeah would you tell anyone or would you keep it?
Speaker 1I won't tell anyone if we can be best friends and build cars together but he probably doesn't like building cars and go fishing for sharks no, he's not fishing for shark oh, what would, oh, save sharks, fish them, tag them, save them, save them, track them. I thought he was into conservation.
Speaker 2Whatever you want to do, man.
Speaker 1I'm just, I'm just here.
Speaker 2You just want to be his bestie, no matter what he's doing. I mean he's doing heroin, I'm just kidding.
Speaker 1Oh God, don't keep that. Don't, no, don't cut that. Show them who you really are All. Don't cut that. Show them who you really are, all right, um, so that that would be my that's like my favorite celebrity, who I think has passed away, okay, um you know who else is really sad.
Speaker 2This is so random, but we talked about yours I don't know if I have a favorite celebrity who's passed? Do I, do I?
Speaker 1think I don't know I mean definitely.
Speaker 2There are people that I was like oh my gosh, this is horrible one being.
Speaker 1We talked about him last week cory monteith from glee yeah which was so sad wasn't there a guy in one direction recently I was just about to say and then of course, liam pain.
Speaker 2Both of those were done like they chose to end their life, so it was very sad, yeah, um, but when liam payne passed, I made jay and sim, my son, sit and watch like so many one direction music videos. We did like a whole memoriam uh evening for him we did um heath ledger, oh my gosh heath ledger might be my my favorite guy that has passed, and then robin williams comes tomorrow robin williams.
Speaker 1This is sad this is sad, but this is sad.
Speaker 2Okay, also tell them about your mom when michael jackson passed oh man give us the, give us like full picture, paint it out for us.
Speaker 1Yeah. So you know, you see it in the, you saw it in the news and there's, you know, huge publicity around it. But you know, my sister and I we weren't huge Jackson fans, I mean, it was way before our time. But one day we come home and my mom is in the dark in her bedroom with the TV on, tears, coming down with a sparkly shirt on, and she's just watching Michael Jackson and crying.
Speaker 2I hate to laugh because it was very sad, but I'm just picturing Sweet Soupie.
Speaker 1I think she had bought a book about him.
Speaker 2And she was holding the book.
Speaker 1There was a biography.
Speaker 2And was she holding the book? Maybe that came after.
Speaker 1Okay, I don't remember, but there was, there was a lot of memorabilia.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, how old were you?
Speaker 1I don't remember how old we were when Michael Jackson passed. I don't know, can I look that up too?
Speaker 2Yeah, but like so, what did you say? Were you like mom, I'm so sorry. Or were you like oh, I feel awkward.
Speaker 1Both.
Speaker 2Oh, ninth grade, so you were in 10th grade 10th grade. Yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, I just yeah. I just began like mom, are you okay? And then being like mom, and then yelling across the house to anyone who can hear me mom's crying over Michael Jackson.
Speaker 2You're like somebody. Please come deal with this.
Speaker 1I don't know what to do and then her laughing because she's like you know.
Justin Bieber's Musical Evolution
Speaker 2She realizes it's a celebrity. Yeah, which, yeah, oh, my gosh man, this is pretty amazing, so I get it if you grew up with him. Speaking of which, okay, I have a transition to get out of dead celebrities, because this is getting grim and sad. Okay, speaking of michael jackson, swag to justin bieber's second swag album. So good, so good, like we cannot stop listening to it.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2The first swag a little disappointing, why?
Speaker 1is that a good transition? Tell the audience.
Speaker 2Oh, sorry, because it has a lot of like Michael Jackson notes and vibes.
Speaker 1It does.
Speaker 2It feels very, and a couple songs from the first swag album did as well. But the second one, I think, knocks the first one out of the park. It does. We we've just been like playing it in the background, like this weekend we had a bunch of house stuff to do and I think that that album played like five or six times through, just because it is so easy to listen to that's the only thing I'm listening to, right now on repeat, I know for two weeks it's shocking.
Speaker 1Wait, okay, I have a fun thing that we can do rate justin bieber, which we kind of already did this the other day, but rate justin bieber albums okay, quick note I found out that speed demon, which is the first track on his new album, which is one of the best ones, is also the name of the michael jackson song on michael jackson's bad album wait, you told me that yeah you told me that, so I think he drew some he drew some like inspiration, yes, from and it's very obvious like yeah, you can just listen to it and know nothing about michael jackson's previous albums and just say this sounds like michael jackson it's great, it's
Speaker 1so good, I know and who else can do that?
Speaker 2I know, I know and honestly, the first album felt. I'm so glad he came out with the second one because the first one felt a little anticlimactic. Sorry for the people that loved it, but this one killed it. And also sorry if you're not just a meber fan, but if you know anything about me. I love him. I were believers, we're believers. I saw him in concert in the 10th grade whenever he was touring my world 2.0. I thought over about my outfit for weeks. I genuinely thought I had floor seats. I genuinely thought he was going to spot me in the crowd and ask me to be his girlfriend I would have thank you.
Speaker 2That's why we're together, and not with justin bieber because I he didn't see me at all, but I I still stand by the outfit that I chose. It was a good outfit and because of that I think my favorite album is my World.
Speaker 1The first one, his first album.
Speaker 2Is it my World or?
Speaker 1That's his first one, right.
Speaker 2Yeah, but I'm like I think that that's my favorite.
Speaker 1It's a good choice.
Speaker 2I think it is. I also love under his Christmas album. Do you remember like?
Speaker 1his YouTube videos when he was a kid. Yes, like he's like tiny and he's just like playing and singing and he sounds really good. Yes, I remember someone being like that's like the next Michael Jackson, because Michael Jackson was a kid.
Speaker 2Yeah, and he sang really good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, he was good with instruments and stuff. His song. Oh my gosh, what was his first song?
Speaker 1Baby Michael.
Speaker 2What was his first song that came out?
Speaker 1I love Baby Michael.
Speaker 2What is that from?
Speaker 1Longest Yard.
Speaker 2Oh, I haven't seen Longest Yard you poked in my nose. I don't know movies like that, unfortunately. Oh, one Time. One Time was my MySpace song I think for six months straight.
Speaker 1What album is that?
Speaker 2His very first. Okay, I'm going to tell you one time girl, I love girl, I love you. I mean, he did just blow, okay, I'ma tell you one time girl, I love girl, I love you. I mean, he did just blow up, I know my. World might be my favorite album, my World 2.0 is also good yeah.
Speaker 1But your favorite is Purpose Most straight kids my age in 2008.
Speaker 2Didn't like him.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2You didn't like him. No In 2008.
Speaker 1You were like him no. You didn't like him no In 2008.
Speaker 2You were in the ninth grade.
Speaker 1I was going to like heavy metal shows. If I told someone I liked, Justin Bieber. They'd probably punch me in the face.
Speaker 2But you liked him secretly, right? You can be honest. This is a safe space.
Speaker 1I don't think I had the musical respect at the time.
Speaker 2Okay, that's fair.
Speaker 1To be able to be like I like him.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1I was just like just the sound that's coming out is just like. Ooh, it's too you're like and you're like girls think he's hot.
Speaker 2Bye Cause, it's like you're, I feel like guys in the ninth grade aren't into the guys that the girls are into if that makes sense, oh, like boys, yeah, yeah, yeah, because they usher. Oh my God. Everyone thought Usher was out, but I had the Usher album.
Speaker 1I had Confessions too. Yeah, yes, I would play that in my car, me and Melly, my CD player, me and my mom.
Speaker 2Melly bought that for me and she would play it on the way to school. Yeah, and we would sing gotta let it burn.
Speaker 1Hanson I was into Hanson, you were. You thought Hanson was cute.
Speaker 2Yeah, I loved Hanson. I would check those CDs out of my cousin's fake library.
Speaker 1That's not necessarily it. You know Bieber's a little more feminine than those guys, I think.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Which is fine If you're into that.
Speaker 2I don't feel like he's feminine now.
Speaker 1Okay, but my favorite album was Purpose.
Speaker 2Purpose, that's a good one. What's your favorite song?
Speaker 1on it. Is it too late now to say sorry? No, what Do you Mean? Is still my favorite Justin Bieber song.
Speaker 2Wait seriously.
Speaker 1Yeah, it is so good. Can I play it real quick for everyone? No, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 2We don't need to do that. People know what it is, also his version of despacito so good. But then remember he like went to that concert and fake sang spanish because he didn't know the words. That was kind of not a good look I mean that I would do that. I still do that yeah, but I feel like he should have learned the words for his concert okay, you don't need to do it on here.
Speaker 1You don't get canceled.
Speaker 2But yeah, justin Bieber, man, he's been through it, he's been through it real hard. But I think he's come back around and his line, his line in Speed Demon, where he's like everyone thinks I'm out of my mind, but now they're singing every line. I was like ooh, got him.
Speaker 1Got him, but beaver album is probably this new one yeah, it was purpose over purpose and my favorite song is still on the purpose album. I think okay, um as of now, but yeah, this new album just is so good it is. If you've never liked beaver, check him out on this album.
Speaker 2It's different. It's good Swag too. He's getting older. Not the first swag.
Speaker 1Yeah. You know, I like the musical uniqueness of it.
Speaker 2Yeah, what about his Christmas album?
Speaker 1Mistletoe, mistletoe. Yeah, it's all-time classic.
Speaker 2Wait, what about Christmas Love, Remember? Sim was making us listen to that in March. We were like buddy. I loved this song before, and now it's March and I kind of am over it.
Speaker 1Yeah, christmas is coming up.
Speaker 2Don't say that.
Speaker 1It's only.
Speaker 2September.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2I can't think that far in advance. My mom told me the other day that she's already stamped, she's already addressed and stamped all of her Christmas cards. What I was like, mom, it is September. September 15th I know she's so far ahead. It was the other day.
Speaker 1How many days ago.
Speaker 2Like a week ago I know Mellie is on top of it this year.
Speaker 1And she typically isn't so no new friends either, if you come in and after if you met her after september 3rd, you ain't getting your christmas card.
Plathville Family Drama and Final Thoughts
Speaker 2Oh my god. Okay, to wrap this up, I'm gonna ask you about your opinion on we've been talking about this for the last couple weeks on plathville, the plath family oh yeah favorite, least favorite, most problematic, and if you guys haven't started watching plathville yet, you need to because we've already converted like four people, and they're invested.
Speaker 1Okay, I know Lee's favorite, who the dad Yo so cringy.
Speaker 2Oh my gosh, he did something last night that you would have donned over.
Speaker 1It gets me so.
Speaker 2He makes me feel so uncomfortable.
Speaker 1It's going to sound mean, but when he smiles I just want to punch him in the face Because it's not and you've never punch him in the face because it's it's not ever and you've never when he smiles. It's out of awkwardness of his kids being like I hate the way you treated me and and then he'll smile to my wife, and then he smirks and I'm like I know, I know and it's an ugly smile. It's so ugly and he's so weird looking he's so uncomfortable.
Speaker 2Okay, who's your favorite? Sorry, I know that was no it's okay, he's very, you'll get. He's so uncomfortable. Okay, who's your?
Speaker 1favorite. Sorry, I know that was me. No, it's okay.
Speaker 2He's very. You'll get it if you've seen it. Yeah, yeah, yeah it's okay, this is a safe, space-ish Favorite.
Speaker 1I haven't seen enough.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Tell me your favorite.
Speaker 2My favorite's, mariah.
Speaker 1Okay, why?
Speaker 2Because she just, like, is so wise and she just, you know, is marching to the beat of her own drum. She's funny, she's cute. Yeah, she like, she kind of reminds me of me in some ways, just because she's like I'm different than the rest of my family, and that's okay and I am who I am and I'm going to let my parents know me Even if, like, I'm different than them.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2So I don't know, it's kind of cool.
Speaker 1Was she the first one to leave the farm, sort of.
Speaker 2Her and Micah left together.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2Yeah so.
Speaker 1There was an older brother that had left.
Speaker 2Ethan and Olivia and they got problems of their own, but they weren't really out there doing anything crazy. No well, they were trying Coca-Cola and we're going to live in the same. She let him try Coca-Cola and that was his first time ever drinking Coke Wow. And then he tried wine and, anyways, they have their own problems and honestly, I used to be a fan of one of the people in the couple and now I'm changing my thoughts. I think that they might be actually like manipulative.
Speaker 1Do we need to give um background on where they're, where these people are from, where they live?
Speaker 2No, we already kind of talked about it in the last episode but I just wanted to ask you your opinions, because you've been like coming in on the tail end of me watching it like every night, and so I feel like you've kind of gotten a taste of it.
Speaker 1Yeah, I feel like you've kind of gotten a taste of it. Yeah, I feel like that's the basic answer is like I dislike the parents Cause that's like whatever, and the dad is so uncomfortable. They're very dislikable.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah man.
Speaker 1But, man, thanks for having me on the show, yeah.
Speaker 2Thank you for coming on here Last minute, being my special guest, appreciate it. I coming on here last minute, being my special guest, appreciate it.
