Speaker 1:

Okay, um hello, hello Welcome to. Sister Shit. Happy New Year. Happy New Year, um, I have no voice. What?

Speaker 2:

happened to your voice? I don't know. It's been gone since Christmas Eve. Oh, that's true. Okay, before we get started we have something really special.

Speaker 1:

We want to read you guys, um, um, just to kick off this New Year's, this New Year. Should we explain what it is? I'm going to read it first and then we can explain. Well, no, I'll explain it first. This is a status. This is a very inside joke that we're just going to let you guys in on. One of our very best friends in 2013 posted the status on her Facebook and has posted the same status every single year, like on New Year's day, ever since, and today is the 10th year.

Speaker 1:

He's not doing it again, so we're going to have it live on forever on our podcast as well. Okay, 2013. Wow, what can I say? This year has been full of so many positive changes in my life. I dedicated the majority of 2013 to becoming a parkour master, which taught me never to give up on my dreams. Even though, ultimately, I decided it wasn't for me due to some severe injuries, I value every flip and kick. I also finally met the love of my life, doritos Locos Taco Supreme. Unfortunately, this year has also had its tragedies. That time, I lost my cool in a heated game of checkers and last shout out a good friend who did not deserve that. Also, I ended my long-term relationship with the love of my life, doritos Locos Taco Supreme. But these things have only made me stronger and I embraced the lessons they've provided. Overall, 2013 can be summed up with my favorite quote I get knocked down, but I get up again and you're never going to keep me down.

Speaker 1:

Chubba Womba Hashtag blessed Hashtag oh my gosh, so blessed. Hashtag. Feeling good. Hashtag 2014 Hashtag memories Hashtag. Chubba Chumbawomba. Hashtag parkour. So end of an era.

Speaker 2:

End of an era. I think just like so funny because back in 2013, people were like putting all of their New Year's resolutions in their Facebook status and so it, like, was so relevant then and now it's like no one does better than. I know at least.

Speaker 1:

I know, I kind of forgot. That's why she started doing it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, everyone is like this is my year.

Speaker 1:

Well, now everyone does like the video, like we're all seeing everyone's reels of their year.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, everyone deserves like this. It's just evolved.

Speaker 1:

Which are they're fun to see. I didn't do one this year.

Speaker 2:

I do not do that.

Speaker 1:

I know.

Speaker 2:

I try to make one for Christmas. I've been a draft of my phone. I like to get chew in my head about it, and then I just never post it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's okay because, remember, we're getting off social media.

Speaker 2:

Wait, we all.

Speaker 1:

I mean we talked about how that's our solution to liking the internet again In our internet episode yeah, and our free feels about social media, okay. So yeah, I hope everyone is having a great start to their new year. I feel no feelings about last year. I feel optimistic about this year. I mean last year actually. No, last year was great. I just I feel like I have been coasting through the holiday break and I am ready to get back on the horse.

Speaker 2:

That's great. Mine is feeling like a little like it's ended too soon.

Speaker 1:

Oh, really, well, you did a lot. We were at the house, oh yeah, the entire time, and it rained a lot and I am so over it. Yeah, so, although I have been in, pajamas for a long time, and I am now, and that's been nice. We've been sleeping in too. Our kids are now the ages like they get up and fix themselves and bowl cereal, turn on cartoons, and we've been letting them do that every day of the break, and it's been amazing.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, anyway, I was gone this week and then got to sleep in. And I came back and my mother-in-law was like, yeah, Sim slept in so well for us. He stayed in his bed until like 6 30 and then like on one. That's when I came back to him.

Speaker 1:

Is that? I wonder how early he gets up.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's how we typically that's how early he always gets up. But whenever he's at Susan's at my, his grandparent's house, he gets in there, but at like 5.

Speaker 1:

Oh dang, oh, that's rough.

Speaker 2:

I know Speaking of Sim Sure, okay, continue, I'm going to help you out.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so what are your New Year's resolutions? Do you do write New Year's resolutions?

Speaker 2:

I do. I don't. I always get okay. So I always get kind of embarrassed about it, because one time I like was going on and on about how much I love New Year's resolutions and I had someone be like I think that they're stupid. Like if you have a goal, just go ahead and do it. I need to wait for the new year. Oh, I'm like true, but they're fun.

Speaker 1:

It's like a tie, I don't know. The time stamp is like helpful and like feeling refreshed.

Speaker 2:

I think it's like ritualistic yeah, recognizing the amount of time has passed and like what we've accomplished and yeah, I don't know, I really like it. So Jay and I came back from the mountains today and on our drive back we like were glazed over and so tired for most of it, but we finally got some energy to be like okay, what are our New Year's resolutions? So we like broke them into categories and, like I get really into it. Categories yeah, we have like financial family.

Speaker 1:

Oh, my gosh, caroline, you are doing the most I like doing the most.

Speaker 2:

Do you do that every year, kind of yeah, I didn't talk to you about this.

Speaker 1:

This is new information.

Speaker 2:

I know I always make like really big goals and I don't always have them, but last year I did.

Speaker 1:

What were they last year?

Speaker 2:

Not the financial one, but I never have.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, those are tough.

Speaker 2:

But like I wanted to do, like yoga consistently for an entire year. Yeah, good for you and a couple other like career focused ones.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, do you have any you want to share with for this year? I don't have to. I'm putting you on the spot.

Speaker 2:

I know I'm like I don't know. Same way, I like want to continue yoga. I want to like get better, like I feel like last year I just like my goal was consistency.

Speaker 1:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker 2:

I think this year my goal will be like progress.

Speaker 1:

That's awesome I.

Speaker 2:

Also wanted to do climbing warm. I think generally, jai and I were just saying we want to like, do more things like yeah. I I've still just feel like a coin, but I've never played pickleball, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, it's so fun. Can we do it?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm really okay, listen I.

Speaker 1:

Why. This is what I say to everyone that I talk about pickleball with. But I am bad at ping pong and I'm bad at tennis, but for some reason I'm Decent at pickleball. It's so fun. Okay, I want to play it. That that's my other goal. So we try to. I know I'm like how do we make that happen, but I would love to do that in your driveway.

Speaker 2:

Your driveway is big enough. We should find a court. I Want to power wash your driveway. Cannot be my new year's resolution. Yeah To power wash your driveway. Yeah, Fun fact about me.

Speaker 1:

I loved Everyone had like a little crisis, like a little career crisis, at one point this year and she was like I'm gonna start a power washing company. I Was for you doing that.

Speaker 2:

I know you really talked me through that one and then it was like 15 minutes in, you were like it's gonna be cold soon and I was like, oh yeah, maybe in the summer put some posters, like fully imagining you just being like a freaking power washing tycoon, taking the southeast by storm. I mean it's not totally out of the Out of the idea books yet.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so in there.

Speaker 2:

Maybe this summer I'll do like a side hustle.

Speaker 1:

Go for it, girl. Your forearms will be.

Speaker 1:

I'm not paying you. What was I? Yeah, I don't have resolutions this year. I feel like mine. I kind of stopped doing them. But we did little wish cards. I found this really cute company that's based in the UK and they do. They say I think they just started with like wish. They're just like little cards that have a match on them and like a striker and a little tiny little like wick, and so you like light the, like the little candle on the piece of paper and blow it out. But then they started collaborating with illustrators, so they'll have like. Now they're like really cute, so they'll have I think they have like a wish on it.

Speaker 1:

No, you just like say the wish. I think it's like it'd be like a cute thing to like mail someone for their birthday or you know, like they're very cute. But I got every one one, for there are stockings this year and we ended up doing them. We'd like did the wish today, and so I feel like that was kind of my New Year's resolution moment, but I don't know. I'm in a weird place right now where I I have. I think this is kind of how I always am.

Speaker 2:

I don't know.

Speaker 1:

I always have like goals that I don't speak out loud. It's namely for like my job, like anytime, or like when I was in school, I did this when I was like now, like now, painting, I do this. But I like have like internal Mile markers, kind of for like, if I can get, if I can do this, like, oh, I don't know, like I don't know, I just feel like it helps me to have, but I'm scared to speak them out loud. I don't know why.

Speaker 2:

No, I think that that's okay, but you shouldn't speak them out loud like to yourself.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I know I need to get better about like believing them. I think I kind of like place them on my little in my brain is like, ooh, this would be cool if this happened. And then subconsciously I'm like, and then I'd be legit, but I'm scared to like really believe it until it's actually happening.

Speaker 2:

I'm the same way and I also like, don't want to, like, fail, so I just won't say something. Yeah here, because if this doesn't happen, I if I say it out loud and it doesn't happen it will be like official failure.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I know, maybe that's what it is to you. Yeah, mine this year is more of like a mindset I want to. I I'm just thinking like I really want to grow in confidence without others approval, like I love that not letting my confidence be based off of how other people or I don't know like I Like, want it to be from inside.

Speaker 2:

I love that, I think that's great. I think everyone can use more of that.

Speaker 1:

I know.

Speaker 2:

Art's hard.

Speaker 1:

It's like such a weird thing because I do feel like so much of it like building a career as an artist does feel a little bit like the things that make you feel Legit as an artist are people being like I want to work with you. So it's like Finding that balance like how do I pursue those same things with like a different mindset? You know, yeah, yeah, so yeah anyway. Vulnerable moment Love it.

Speaker 2:

Love to see it. You straight up asked me what mine were, so I know what are yours. List them right now.

Speaker 1:

I didn't. I said do you have any that you would like to share with us? It was the most and you could have just said, no, huh, goodness gracious.

Speaker 2:

To be mean. Oh my gosh, I'm listening to me. I'm just saying you're like I'm vulnerable and I would like it's okay, me too, sister fight.

Speaker 1:

Okay, you want to know something else? Life update Quit the gym, but I saw this coming.

Speaker 2:

I saw this coming. They didn't let you quit wait.

Speaker 1:

No, why did you see this coming? Excuse me, you are like so low-key, spicy right now.

Speaker 2:

No, you are so low-key, taking everything I say wrong, I think. I'm a period saw this coming because you told me you tried out a new. Wait it's glad.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry. I can't believe this is our first fight on our podcast. Wow, we went about. We went a really long time without fighting.

Speaker 2:

I was podcast for a long time.

Speaker 1:

We did Walker's not in the room. Right now we're not on our best behavior, okay, so I quit the gym, but you're gonna die. Because I called and I said listen, and I the guy, like the Manager picked up and I know him personally, and I mean not first, like I know him just because I take his classes, okay, and so he like knows who I am, which I think helped me. Oh, that's cool. But I said I need to quit and he gave me the runaround. Keith was in the other room listening the whole thing and afterwards he was like he did a good job, meredith.

Speaker 1:

Because he was he pulled out all the stops. He was like you know you can pause, you can like. I know you like this kind of class. We're adding more of these classes to the schedule and I was thinking you've been saying that for four months and also the chances of me being able to come to this one specific time Any. And I've already decided in my heart I'm moving on. It's too intense. I like don't want to do it more than once a week and I want to go to the gym more than once a week but I like cannot physically Do it because, it's, it's too much, it's like really intense almost throw up the first I know so, but you know what he told me?

Speaker 1:

He just told me you go to orange theorycom and go to scroll all the way down to the bottom, click cancellations. You put in the store number and you just put in a request for cancellation and then they just approve it.

Speaker 2:

You have got to be. I was shocked. I was about to fake being in the hospital. Oh, I know.

Speaker 1:

I don't know why he. I don't know why he told me that, like surely their policy hasn't changed.

Speaker 2:

You know, they literally like I went in three separate times.

Speaker 1:

I know I had a friend that that same thing happened and she was like and the second?

Speaker 2:

time they were, they literally were like oh, a manager has to be here.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that happened to my friend and she was like so I sat in the. I sat in the parking lot and like waited until the manager was showing up, and then when she told the manager she wanted to quit, and he was like is everything okay? She's like he made it about me, like something must be wrong with me that I want to quit the gym.

Speaker 2:

Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1:

Anyway. So, but I still have to pay a whole another month because they have a 30 day cancellation policy.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we knew about that, which most places do.

Speaker 1:

Yeah so, but anyway it is fair. But I just was like I can't wait to tell Caroline because I don't know, I don't know if it's because I got the manager on the phone.

Speaker 2:

You're also a little bit better than me about like just being, like no.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean I told him I was like I just want to. I was like it's just not. I think I need something like a little more mild I want to do. I was like I think I want to do like yoga, because I knew I couldn't tell him I wanted to do anything that was similar to what I was doing. I was like I'm doing a totally different thing.

Speaker 2:

You're a little bit better at like, just like speaking your mind. I like it so panicky and nervous and like it literally I still don't know why they made you come in though. Green separate frames. And the one time the girlie literally said I'm not letting you quit, girlie, what am I supposed to say to that? You say no, I need to quit.

Speaker 2:

I said okay, caroline, I know maybe that makes me my new year's resolution to have a bigger backbone. Our friend Athena has this ring that says be kind and then on the inside of it says I'm a bitch and I'm like, oh my gosh, I need.

Speaker 1:

I love that. It's good.

Speaker 2:

I let them give me the run around for literally like four months.

Speaker 1:

So anyway. So I have not months left and I told them I'd go in and use my last eight classes, but I don't know if that's going to happen. So anyway, new year, new me.

Speaker 2:

Also new year, new gypsy rose. Can we talk?

Speaker 1:

about that. Wait, yes, I okay. Wait, that transition was flawless. I, yes, okay.

Speaker 2:

I want to say I did not straight up trying to floss my teeth right now.

Speaker 1:

I know I don't love that we're doing this on zoom. Um, I did not finish the dramatization. Dramatization, dramatization. I did not finish the dramatization of her story with the ever so talented. What's the actress's name? Oh, our favorite from um Joey kissing through did not finish Joey's reenactment of gypsy roses.

Speaker 2:

I think that's why I don't like the kissing. Well, there's numerous reasons why those movies are terrible, but all I could see was gypsy rose.

Speaker 1:

Oh, but I, once she got in the relationship and she started getting kinky with her boyfriend, I was like I can't do this, and so I didn't finish the story and so now but now I kind of feel like I want to go back and watch it, so I'm fully updated.

Speaker 2:

It's a little like one of those that makes you not feel great.

Speaker 1:

I know Well, and then the, the documentary is even worse, isn't it? Yeah?

Speaker 2:

Which one's harder to watch?

Speaker 1:

I don't know, and you watch both I.

Speaker 2:

I watched both. Yeah, but it's been so long I don't know which one was harder to watch, because I literally binge them all like back to back.

Speaker 1:

And I finished one.

Speaker 2:

I was like I need to know more. So I think I watched the dramatization first and then the documentary after. Yeah, but she's doing a tell-all.

Speaker 1:

I know I raise your hand if you're going to be watching.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Raise your hand if you're going to be watching, because I cannot wait. And have y'all been seeing everyone marketing her face at their Mexican restaurants?

Speaker 1:

Wait why?

Speaker 2:

Everyone's been like all these Mexican restaurants, like all over the nation Wait why there? Have been photo shopping Gypsy Rose at their bar, with a Margarita being like Gypsy Rose's first stop after she got released for marketing. Wait, why are they? Wait what?

Speaker 1:

Just Mexican restaurants.

Speaker 2:

I mean, that's all I've seen, wait, wait. To get people in there, I've seen it like four separate times.

Speaker 1:

Wait, you're just like seeing this as you scroll on Instagram.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no Facebook. Which Facebook is funky, you know. You see all kinds of there, Wait that is so funny. I like how the Mexican restaurant from, like Michigan. Pop up, and how to picture Gypsy Rose drinking a Margarita at the bar.

Speaker 1:

And it was like clearly photoshopped. Yeah, wait, please send me these images. Okay, I will. So funny.

Speaker 2:

I've been dying.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I definitely want to watch. Also, speaking of memoirs, I received the woman inside me. Woman inside me. No, the woman and me by Britney Spears. Yeah, keith surprised me with it for Christmas, which I have never felt more seen and understood and known and loved than getting that for Christmas. I read the whole thing on Christmas Day and I kind of forgot. That's what I wanted this episode to be about. But, I mean, I don't know. What do you want to know? I want you to ask me questions and me to answer them.

Speaker 2:

I mean, we've already kind of done this a little bit because you were like very ready to tell me last time I saw you.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I forgot, I saw you, but so I don't know if I have gracious, we don't have to do it again.

Speaker 2:

I'm trying to think of any additional question. Honestly, the thing that you told me that, like I've been thinking about still, is that she was really self aware.

Speaker 1:

Oh, we did talk about this Getting weird and I was like that is so interesting.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and talks like about why, she uses Instagram the way she does. Wait, so tell me why. Well, she was just saying that, like she, you like, she's like, basically like I know my Instagram is cringy and I have no style, but I like never got to pick out what I wanted to wear, I never got to develop a sense of style. I like my body was like never mind. She basically just like didn't ever experience like bodily autonomy in any way or like any kind of autonomy. And so she was saying, like Instagram is like my way of like expressing myself.

Speaker 2:

So and and it's really weird and doing what? Yeah?

Speaker 1:

Yeah. So I don't know, I don't know. I highly recommend 10 out of 10. As far as like celebrity memoirs go, it was very entertaining not entertaining but like yeah, I mean I couldn't put it down. I read it in one day, two books.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it was great. I'm gonna look into it whenever I get more audiobook hours on Spotify, because I think it's on there right now.

Speaker 1:

I'm gonna need you to walk me through how to do audiobook free. Audiobooks on Spotify.

Speaker 2:

Because I literally just looked up audiobooks and it gave me 20 hours. It gives you, I think, 20 hours a month maybe, but are you?

Speaker 1:

the account holder. Like Keith and I share an account. I'm like wondering if that's why he's the account holder. So I'm like wondering if that's why I don't get the audio hours.

Speaker 2:

I'm the account holder and Jay's not listening to audiobooks, so I don't know. Maybe, I'll look on his phone and see.

Speaker 1:

We'll figure this out outside of the podcast.

Speaker 2:

But like did, you look up a bunch of different audiobooks but some of them are locked.

Speaker 1:

Oh, but the only ones I looked up have been locked. Oh, you have to find three ones.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like some of them are included.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay, okay, okay.

Speaker 2:

The Britney Spears one I think is right now. And also don't like get stoked because I was like stoked because I like I listened to Hoopla with the Richland Library. You can like do the Hoopla and get an audiobook, but if I like put one down and pick up another one and get super excited about it and then like that one gets put back on the shelf and then you only have 20, I think 20 days or 21 days.

Speaker 2:

So I like tried to pick one up that I'd put back down and it like wouldn't let me play it again.

Speaker 1:

I like make to go recheck it out. Oh, you told me this, that's so weird.

Speaker 2:

I was super excited when I got Spotify because I was like this makes it so much easier. And then I was in the climax of a book and it cut off and I was like you're out of hours this month. You're out. You're like hours will refresh in 24 days.

Speaker 1:

Oh shoot.

Speaker 2:

Because I like, I will, and then you can order, and then you can pay.

Speaker 1:

You can pay Per chapter, right? Couldn't you just pay for certain chapters? Oh, you pay for hours and.

Speaker 2:

I think it's 1299 for 10 hours.

Speaker 1:

Okay, but if you listen to him, super sped up, you could go fast, right?

Speaker 2:

I listened to mine on like 1.8.

Speaker 1:

1.9 sometimes if I speak. Yeah, I used to do 1.5.

Speaker 2:

And I was like I think I can handle one and I, I I like your books and J like J cannot listen to me, listen to an audio.

Speaker 1:

Wait why?

Speaker 2:

The most obnoxious thing I've ever heard, oh really. Like someone talking and fast forward.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And he's like how are you keeping up with?

Speaker 1:

it. Yeah, I remember I got in the car one time and you were listening to your like smut book, super sped up, which is like so funny.

Speaker 2:

That was a smut book that like I don't typically listen to smut books on audio books because it makes them like way more cringy. Yeah for sure, it's like a really good person.

Speaker 1:

Especially when they're at 1.8.

Speaker 2:

Well, that's so. That's why I was listening to it sped up, because this is when I was just like trying to get through it it was over it anyways. But the end of guy would do the girls voice. I mean it's like talking a girly voice, Like try to sound sexual. It was so bad.

Speaker 1:

Oh man.

Speaker 2:

So what is your? What is your reading for the year? Do you do? Do you ever do that?

Speaker 1:

I need to make one because I didn't do one last year and the only books I read were I'm glad my mom died and Brittany Spears, which I'm glad my mom that was really good. Are you on Goodreads? No, no and I cannot. It took me so long to get off of their freaking email list. I was getting like 17 emails a day from Goodreads. I don't even get emails from them. I don't know, but I like signed up for a minute.

Speaker 2:

You can change the settings I know I finally did.

Speaker 1:

I finally like went into my account and like changed all my settings, but I feel like they spammed me for like eight months.

Speaker 2:

But you like it. I like it because I do the reading challenge every year and then I track which books I've read, and you can also like look at friends books and see what they've rated them.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I'm reading the Secret Garden with the Girls right now, which is so it starts out, so depressing. The parents die within, like the first chapter, and she's like why did they used to do that to us? And like every freaking every book, and so we're reading that. I want to. I'm reading the Hunger Games prequel. I'm reading that one. I'm trying to read it before it leaves theaters and I don't know if I'm going to make it.

Speaker 2:

Well you, thank goodness, sorry, I'm eating a potato chip. You live next to the Dollar Theater that played movies.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's true, that's true and think about that. So, yeah, I'm starting the year off good.

Speaker 2:

I'm like reading currently, but I like to give a break of our Christmas, or, yeah, a Christmas break, which is weird. I feel like typically people would read more, but I haven't been reading. But I set a higher goal than I have ever.

Speaker 1:

What's your reading goal?

Speaker 2:

I don't even want to say that loud because I'm embarrassed of it.

Speaker 1:

I mean my. I've never, I never, ever read.

Speaker 2:

So it's well, I want to read one of them. Okay, that's reasonable. What was your? What was it last year? I was like seven because I was in a total reading, like like I hadn't read any books.

Speaker 1:

Maybe I'll start with six, which is so low it's like embarrassing.

Speaker 2:

So that's why I didn't want to tell you mine, because I'm in a bunch of like reading groups. Something really embarrassing about me that I like hate to admit is that I'm in a bunch of Facebook Facebook groups.

Speaker 1:

I love that you're still on Facebook.

Speaker 2:

I got off for like five years.

Speaker 1:

I know why are you back on.

Speaker 2:

I got back on to get marketplace because I need to sell a bunch of oh, we have 10 more minutes on our free zoom.

Speaker 2:

Okay, and then I got back on and then I got in all these groups. Anyways, I'm in a bunch of reading groups, Like I'm in like a romance reading book group and then I'm in a psychological thrillers one and all of their reading goals for the year For like 160. Oh my gosh. To be fair, like half of the amount of people are like like do you guys do anything in your spare time? Like half the amount of people are like I can never read your many books.

Speaker 2:

And half the amount of people are like reading 160 books, like it's like a female level.

Speaker 1:

That's so many books. I know that's crazy. I need to watch less TV. I love TV.

Speaker 2:

I love a good show. That's my thing. It's like I'm not gonna feel bad about loving TV.

Speaker 1:

I know I review, it's the same.

Speaker 2:

I'm more unapologetically myself. I used to feel really guilty about not liking TV because we had so many friends that didn't have TVs in their houses.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

But I'm like you know what? No, I love watching a teen drama. I love watching. I know, I just like, I really like to watch TV. I do too, I'm not gonna feel bad about it, love a good show, I'm watching. The Crown right now. Are you?

Speaker 1:

I'm ready to be over. I mean, we've watched, I've watched all of it and Diana just died. I'm like eager to get. Who wants to get a queer eye. Oh, I love that show.

Speaker 2:

I can't watch a ton of it, though I like have to go.

Speaker 1:

Oh, you hit the new one.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no, yeah, the new one. I've never watched it, so the other day, I had a lazy day and Jay and I watched Bench the whole first season. Like the first three episodes Jay and I were like like staring into the TV and then we just look at each other and be like, oh.

Speaker 1:

I know it's so heartwarming, I'm so invested, I know.

Speaker 2:

So that's our like heartwarming show that we were also watching, shameless, which we've been watching for like what feels like.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I couldn't get, I didn't get hooked on that.

Speaker 2:

Well, I'm only watching it for Jeremy.

Speaker 1:

Mm-hmm. He didn't have enough big enough. He didn't have a big enough role to keep me invested.

Speaker 2:

It gets bigger. But I will say it the other day my friend Krista was like me if I was on the bear. Yes, daddy, I mean she.

Speaker 1:

I was like, oh my gosh, oh, he is so hot.

Speaker 2:

I know, but he's also one of those people that's like he's hot because of his character.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, he's not actually, but that character man, it's great.

Speaker 2:

I wanna see the exact episode movie with him.

Speaker 1:

When does that come out? It's out, oh it is. No, it's not fun. What oh? I started watching that the other day.

Speaker 2:

Can you tell me what?

Speaker 1:

it is. Well, okay.

Speaker 2:

Everyone's freaking talking about it.

Speaker 1:

Well, I actually read the entire synopsis on Wikipedia because I saw someone put like post of Reel that there were, like me, going to see Saltburn because of that guy, jacob Elordi or whatever his name is.

Speaker 1:

And then walking out they were like walking out, like like stunned, and so I was like, okay, what's this movie about? Cause everyone's, cause, it's must have been weird. So I read the whole synopsis, so I was going into it kind of already knowing what it was, and it was funny because Shanika the horror, our horror hues, horror, hues, yeah, podcast guest. She posted about how, like it's based in 2007 or 17. So she was saying like it would have been very cool in 2017, but like I don't have the energy for it now.

Speaker 2:

And.

Speaker 1:

I felt that way. I was like started it and I thought I felt like I thought this was just gonna be like a guilty pleasure kind of movie and it's like way more like artsy than I had energy for. Like it's like but I think if you're in that kind of mood, it could be cool. But I was like, oh, I don't, I don't have, I don't know, I'm not that invested Like, literally gave it five minutes.

Speaker 2:

And I was like I might try it, Cause I really like Jacob.

Speaker 1:

Elordi, I didn't know that. I really didn't know that Zac Efron movie was out. Let's go see it. I think it came out like during Christmas break.

Speaker 2:

We need to go see it. I want to see that.

Speaker 1:

I want to see the color purple. I want to see songbirds and snakes, but I can't see that until it's over, until I read, but Don't want to. Oh, I'm going to. Yes, I joined Regal Rewards last year, so they have pretty good reward system.

Speaker 2:

They have a reward member.

Speaker 1:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker 2:

Mm-hmm, you get free popcorn. We got a Guardians of the Galaxy popcorn bucket.

Speaker 1:

Ooh Um.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, so Guardians of the Galaxy wish.

Speaker 1:

What did he? What was the synopsis? I have no interest in seeing it.

Speaker 2:

He loved it. He's been singing all the songs from it. He's been singing all the songs and he like made me and Jay listen to the song, the. Is the music good? It's great, okay, and like told me the story. What was happening in the movie as we're listening to the music. But he also told me I was like I really want to see it, but he was like yeah, but like Not for a while Because it was a little scary. And I think like he basically was like I need a minute.

Speaker 1:

Oh, sweet Some, I know.

Speaker 2:

Is he no longer?

Speaker 1:

saying Siggi.

Speaker 2:

No. I need it, because I love when he said that's what she'd be like. I'm a Sigg. It's too Siggi. We're scared. It's too Siggi.

Speaker 1:

But yeah. So I have lots of movies I want to see. I don't know which ones to prioritize. I really yeah.

Speaker 2:

That should be on our. Oh my gosh, okay, new Year's resolution. Here we go, we can start wrapping things up here.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Jay and I want to have more family dinner.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

For our house with you guys and Leslie next.

Speaker 1:

Yes, with our James and Sir and brother Would love that. Let's do it.

Speaker 2:

I would, let's do like Sunday dinners. Like an early dinner on Sundays.

Speaker 2:

That's what I was thinking because I did one of those dumb things on Instagram where it's like look at this word, scramble and pick the first four words that you see. But one of mine was connection and I was like man, I really feel like that Last year my word was balance. It literally was so impactful for me, Like typically, I pick a word and I like kind of forget about it. The last year was balance and it seriously I feel like you are.

Speaker 1:

You came out of 2023 more balanced.

Speaker 2:

Like majorly and I feel way more internally balanced, like how do you pick your word?

Speaker 1:

This can be a good closing. How do you pick your word for the year?

Speaker 2:

I don't know I'm. Last year I picked balance because I felt so off balance. It felt like that was like the only thing I could pick.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I'm in this year because I'm feeling I don't know. I don't know what to do, Speaking of some who's out of bed and who's giving me a devilish look. What is in your hand? Where did you find Plato in your room? It might be the closest, okay, I'm in this room and I don't know where.

Speaker 1:

That's fun. Okay, so everybody think about their word for the year. I need to pick one for me, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Maybe we'll come back with that next.

Speaker 1:

Okay, and also shoot us a DM Let us know what topics you guys would like for us to chat about this year. Yeah, what do you want to hear from us? Are there any culture moments? Are there any childhood stories you want to share? We love chatting. We also love other bad dates.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, it's so many bad dates, bad dates Okay, another one of those coming soon. But yes, please let us know if there's anything or if you want a homework. You want us to talk about a homework? Which I'm sure, I don't believe that.

Speaker 1:

Well, gypsy Rose is on Lifetime, so we'll be debriefing that at some point.

Speaker 2:

We need to figure out when her teller is yeah, that's what I'm talking about.

Speaker 1:

Lifetime is producing it.
